How To Download Optifine On Mac 1.12.2
So you guys with Macs feel forever alone because everyone uses windows and you don't know how to install Optifine and such. But I know how! Follow this guide and you'll be a coding genius (Not really)
Step 1- Install The Unarchiver and the latest version of Optifine. (Both free applications)
Step 2- Open Finder and find your Minecraft folder. Go to bin.
Step 3- Find your Minecraft.jar file. It should have the java coffee thing there. Compress it into a .zip file (RIght click and then find 'Compress file' in dropdown box.)
After this you should have minecraft.jar.zip. Move this to your desktop.
Step 4- Open it by Right-clicking the file then opening it with The Unarchiver. You should end up with a folder.
Step 5- Right click the file yet again and click 'get info', then under name and extensions, name the file minecraft.jar. This is very relevant because the Mac needs to see this file as the thing with all the game operating things.
Step 6- After downloading Optifine, you should have a folder. Open it and copy every item there. Paste it into the minecraft.jar folder. Replace all.
Step 7- Move the minecraft.jar FOLDER into your bin, and move the jar version to your desktop and compress it into a .zip file again in case you need a backup.
Step 8- After you are all set and whatnot, close your finder and everything and run Minecraft.
***NOTICE- YOUR MINECRAFT MAY CRASH A FEW TIMES UPON THIS BEING THE FIRST TIME YOU RUN OPTIFINE. THIS IS COMPLETELY NATURAL.***
