Since the release of our Skype for Business on Mac client back in October 2016, we have received questions from customers about ongoing early access to our latest builds. Now that we hit General Availability, these early access builds are distributed via the Office Insider for Mac Program through Microsoft AutoUpdate. Download and install. If don't already have Skype for Business installed, see: Install Skype for Business on Mac. Install Skype for Business on a mobile device. Get Skype, free messaging and video chat app. Conference calls for up to 25 people. Download Skype for Windows, Mac or Linux today. Depending on your Microsoft 365 plan: If you see the following page, choose Skype for Business, choose your language, the edition that matches your other Office applications (32 bit or 64 bit - if you don't know, choose the default) and choose Install.Then go to step 5. If Skype for Business is bundled with other Microsoft 365 applications, you'll see the following page. The Skype for Business Web App plug-in is required for audio, video, and screen sharing during a Skype Meeting. If you joined the meeting but can't connect to the Skype Call or can't see meeting content, try the basic troubleshooting steps first, and then review the list of common issues and errors if necessary.

For the best Mac client experiences and an always up-to-date infrastructure, we recommend all customers migrate to Office 365. Skype for Business Server 2015 customers should at a minimum download and install the Skype for Business Server 2015 Cumulative Update version 9319.272 or higher (coming soon). Lync Server 2013 customers should consider upgrading their installation to Skype for Business Server 2015 or downloading the latest Lync Server 2013 Cumulative Update version 8308.973 or higher (coming soon). Lync Server 2010 is not supported – instead, we recommend customers continue to use the Lync for Mac 2011 client.

• 1GHz Intel processor.
• Minimum: Mac OS X 10.6+
• Recommended: Mac OS X 10.9+
• 100 MB free disk space.
• Either USB or regular headset if your Mac does not have a built-in microphone.
• Download drivers if you are using an external webcam.
• For voice calls recommend broadband connection with 100 kbps down / 100 kbps up.
• For group video calling everyone on the call needs Skype 5.0 for Windows or Mac or higher plus webcams. For best quality we recommend you use a high-speed broadband connection of 4Mbps down/512kbps up and a computer with a Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz processor. As a minimum you’ll need a high-speed broad connection of 512kbps down/128kbps up and a computer with a 1 GHz processor.
